As a designer it is important to be able to decipher the traits that define that brand's identity. The following is a proposal for an electric kettle inspired the Monaco based yacht makers, Wally.
Wally Yachts is known for a geometric and clean style that create a distinct movement from bow to stern. I incorporated this combination of sharp and soft into a kettle that fits well in the tight space of a boat's cabin.
An homage to the Wally 110, the kettle incorporates a teak handle and lid, an aircraft-grade aluminum frame, and a double-walled, stainless-steel body. The kettle is narrow to minimize the footprint, and the base is angled so that when the kettle is taken off of its charging cradle it tilts back to prevent spilling.
